INSATIA began in the Spring of 2008 in Phoenix, Arizona, USA, originally under the moniker Atomic Revolution. At the time it was a project that Jon "DUCK" Harris had been working on for a number of years with various members, but was mostly a solo project in need of a singer. Jon wrote the songs, recorded the instruments and came up with everything that needed to be a part of the mix. At the time, Jon had also been a part of several other music projects ranging from pop/rock to producing other local bands in the Phoenix area. During his time in the pop/rock scene in 2006, Jon met another young guitar player also named Jon. A friendship truly blossomed and a professional relationship transpired from the pop/rock band, Picture of a Photograph, to Atomic Revolution, where Jon took on the nickname "DUCK" to counter act the fact that both guitar players were named Jon.

Atomic Revolution went through two singers, a female and a male, before it become apparent that things needed to change. Perhaps Atomic Revolution just was not meant to take off the way DUCK and Jon had planned. DUCK and Jon were ready to create something fresh and new, both from the mistakes of the past and the hopes of the future. They were dedicated and ready to write all new material and to find hard-working dedicated members under a new image, and a new name - INSATIA.

INSATIA's first real drummer was met by DUCK incidentally at a Nightwish concert, when his girlfriend at the time accidentally bumped into him in the crowd and we all got to talking. His name was Brenton and we all soon started jamming on the songs that DUCK had been working on. Brenton came aboard and soon we started recording the four-song demo that would eventually be called, Left Behind (EP). By the Winter of 2009, INSATIA (at the time called TORMENT) started looking for a female singer in order to complete the band that would be a gothic/femme metal band similar to the scene in Europe. Karri made it through the auditioning process and started working on the songs.

In between obtaining Karri and releasing the demo, Left Behind (EP), a very small and little known German band named TORMENT notified INSATIA (at the time called TORMENT) that they were using their name and should not continue to do so. After conducting some research, it became clear that there were a few bands at the time who were releasing records under the name TORMENT, and once again, a name change was in good order. DUCK wanted a name that really represented the songs and the nature of the band. INSATIA is about not ever being whole, not ever being contented, not by selfishness, but by the result of endless internal struggle that leads to a self-made prison. After careful consideration and collabouration with the other members, TORMENT then became INSATIA from the word "insatiable".

Not too much later, by the Summer of 2009, Conrad came aboard to play bass, and the line-up was complete. The demo was ready to be released and the marketing campaign followed. INSATIA used Myspace extensively to generate a global fan base. The attention did not stop there; magazines, radio stations, and interviewers helped INSATIA to reach a wider audience by showcasing the demo.

As time went on, certain members were no longer working out and were in need of replacement. Karri was asked to leave, while Brenton left on his own accord. Karri was quickly replaced by Chelsea, and Brenton was quickly replaced by Jester. Both new members were a breath of well-needed fresh air and the stalled debut album went back into production. In the Autumn of 2010, Jester wrote and recorded the drums in a steadfast manner, while Chelsea worked on her vocal parts. Unfortunately, nine months later, Chelsea had to relocate and once again INSATIA was stalled, looking for a new singer. After several months of trying to find a new singer, it seemed as though a drastic change needed to take place. DUCK and Jester were the two main active and creative components of INSATIA and decided to return the band down to the basics. Both Jon and Conrad were busy doing things outside of INSATIA, and INSATIA was not in any place to be playing shows for probably quite some time. DUCK and Jester thought it best to start marketing INSATIA as just the two of them until a new singer could be found, and return to the other members at a future date when playing shows would be for sure.

DUCK and Jester continued to work hard on the debut release of thirteen songs, titled Asylum Denied, as the name fit what seemed to be the constant struggle to nowhere. A year and a half later in the winter of 2011, Jester got wind of a tenacious, young, and talented female singer looking for a band that fit the description exactly of INSATIA. Jester called her in for an audition, and it was then that DUCK and Jester decided to bring Zoe on board. Zoe agreed with excitement, and the next chapter in Asylum Denied began. At current, Zoe is hard at work on the vocals for the debut album, Asylum Denied, and will be recording soon. All current and active information on the progress of the band can be found on the studio blog, YouTube, and Facebook pages, and the home site.
